Transport Planning Supervisor

Your new company
We have a new opportunity for a Transport planner to join an established Logistics team within a busy manufacturing business who operate a fleet of 60+ vehicles across the UK.
Your new role
Your role within the team is to plan customer deliveries utilising 3PL carriers to UK destinations, planning daily routing and the trunking schedule for the UK trucker fleet to depots across the UK. You will also plan return loads from depots and arrange collections of materials back to site. Using the ERP system you will download customer orders and prepare them for route planning, ensuring resource is available.
You will plan the daily and weekly delivery routing and scheduling, ensuring all orders are route planned to achieve maximum fleet utilisation and meet customer expectations. All routes must comply with regulations for drivers and vehicles, therefore, knowledge of drivers hours rules and WTD directions is essential. This is a Monday to Friday role with occasional requirements for flexibility around holiday cover.
What you\'ll need to succeed
You will require experience gained in a Transport/Logistics environment, excellent communication and customer service skills to liaise with external and internal stakeholders. Knowledge of driver\'s hours regulations, coupled with strong IT Skills ideally including ERP systems such as SAP.
