The Fleet and Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and maintenance of the company's fleet of 35 vans and 4 company cars, as well as managing plant and tools essential for daily operations. This role encompasses a range of duties including procurement, servicing, breakdown management, maintenance, insurance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet Management:
- Procurement of new vehicles and equipment as needed.
- Coordinating regular servicing and maintenance schedules for vans and company cars.
- Managing breakdown situations, arranging repairs, and ensuring minimal downtime.
- Handling insurance claims and renewals for all vehicles.
- Overseeing the installation of van livery, deadlocks, trackers, roof racks, and other accessories as required.
- Equipment Management:
- Managing the procurement and maintenance of plant machinery and tools required for operations.
- Organizing regular testing, calibration, and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintaining company-owned scissor lifts, including scheduling inspections and repairs.
- Logistics and Compliance:
- Developing and implementing efficient logistics strategies for fleet operations.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards for all vehicles and equipment.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections.
- Budgeting and Cost Management:
- Monitoring and managing budgets related to fleet operations, including maintenance and procurement costs.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
