Our Associate Project Manager apprenticeship consists of a 24-month long opportunity to build on your organisational and communication skills and apply your ‘can-do’ attitude whilst working towards a level 4 qualification.


The Job - Working in the Transport team in the Council you will:

  • Assist with monitoring the progress of the transport and highways programme by liaison with Project Managers across the Council, recording project progress and providing Management Information to the Assistant Director of Transport.
  • Assist with production of and reporting on project data to Transport for London and other funding providers.
  • Assist Transport Officers in the analysis of the results of all necessary investigations, surveys, feasibility studies and research relevant to any aspect of the postholder’s or departments work.
  • Learn how to draft responses to enquiries from members of the public, Councillors, stake holders, and other departments of the Council and to take appropriate action.
  • Learn how to draft reports for review under the guidance of Senior or Principal Officers and to support officers in attendance at Committees, Sub-Committees of the Council as required.

Training and Development – Within your role you will:

  • Complete level 4 qualification funded by the Council. This will involve attendance at a college and/or completing tasks in the workplace (depending on specific course requirement).
  • Join a personal and professional development programme that will involve a series of varied development activities and events throughout your time with the Council.

After you have successfully completed your Apprenticeship, you will have gained valuable workplace experience and attained a professional qualification which will improve your chances of finding work either within the Council or with another employer or help you move on to a higher-level apprenticeship elsewhere.


You will have networked across the Council and be aware of the internal job market during your time with us and we will provide support on your approach to the wider job market as part of your development programme.

  • This vacancy will be open to only Hammersmith & Fulham residents & care leavers initially.
  • Have lived in the UK for the past 3 years (as part of the funding requirement).
  • Not currently be qualified in a level 4 Associate Project Manager qualification or above.
  • Currently not undertaking any other formal form of study (e.g. college or university course).
