About the School
The Academy is a special school for young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) aged 5-14 and is a part of a growing Multi Academy Trust established in 2017 serving special schools across the West Midland area.
All pupils here have an EHCP that identifies their additional needs as SEMH and need the very best teaching from someone who is able to respond to their individual needs. The School want their pupils to be inspired and challenged, but also want someone who will care about them as individuals.
Sometimes their pupils display challenging behaviours and they know there is always a reason for this. We are therefore looking to appoint an a Teacher who will work alongside them to address the issues beneath the behaviour to enable pupils to be successful in all areas of their life.
About the Role
The position would entail covering Class Teachers PPA time across all three key stages within the school and providing emotional support to pupils including behaviour management. *Please note, Planning is not required for this role*
We are looking for someone with an understanding of behaviours and mental heath issues, and someone of an empathic yet resilient nature. The successful applicant will need to be calm, approachable, friendly and be able to create a warm and welcoming environment for the students to achieve in.
