We are looking to recruit to the post of Travel Compliance & Monitoring Assistant to work closely with professional colleagues and support our clients by providing comprehensive monitoring and compliance to Council’s contracted operators on Home to School Transport.


This post will be based at our operational Hellaby Depot within the Travel Planning Team and under the Supervision of the Travel Planning Manager. You will be part of a strong and supportive team, all of whom work hard towards developing an effective service.


We are looking for a hardworking and conscientious person to work in a busy environment, providing an essential and valuable service to our customers as well as supporting internal operations.The ideal candidate will have experience of providing contract monitoring support in a challenging service and have some experience in organisation of internal operations. You should have excellent customer service skills, be well-organised and demonstrate flexibility in your approach to both the role and work base.


The role is to ensure operators working on Home to School Transport comply with their obligations under the contract arrangements. You will assist in investigating incidents and allegations, documenting reports and providing supporting evidence to the Travel Planning Manager. You will liaise with schools, parents and carers, providing technical knowledge on suitable transport arrangements for children with special education needs.

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2024 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
