Intergovernmental body is seeking an experienced Travel Officer to support their Travel team at their central London headquarters.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract and will pay £39,599 plus benefits.
This is a hybrid position, working 2 days in the office – Tuesday and Thursday.
The Travel Team provides travel services to the organisation and is responsible for the implementation and execution of travel related procurement, sourcing, negotiation and supplier management strategies to meet organisational objectives in cost, quality and service levels.
The Travel Officer will be a key part of the team developing and managing changes and enhancements to the travel policy and processes, including automation, within the organisation. They will act as a key liaison between the staff and the Travel Section on all travel-related matters. Responsibilities will include:
- Providing travel and travel-related services to the organisation, maintaining value for money and compliance with the Travel Policy.
- Delivering the outcomes of the independent review of travel, updating the travel policy and any other travel reform.
- Support the delivery of travel and travel-related projects and efficiencies to the organisation.
The ideal Travel Officer will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Knowledge of processing travel requests and bookings and experience in dealing with travel.
- Project management and co-ordination skills.
- Ability to lead and facilitate meetings, project planning and training.
- Exposure to contract management.
- Negotiation skills as well as the ability to maintain flexibility and manage conflict.
- The ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with policies, guidelines and priorities.
- The ability to communicate confidently and effectively across all levels and to establish effective working relationships utilising tact, respect and diplomacy throughout the organisation and with external suppliers.
- Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Financial acumen and financial analysis skills.
- Excellent IT skills, experienced user of Microsoft Office products including Excel
- Knowledge of travel apps and technology.
- Degree educated or equivalent
