Superb Butler role with the opportunity to travel extensively
Job Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a HNW family with jet set lifestyle, taking over the reins from an established member of the household team. This position is an integral part of the household operation, and you will work in conjunction with a House Manager and Housekeeper in addition to other domestic staff in properties throughout the UK/USA.
Duties:
The purpose of this role is to facilitate the smooth running of the principal’s day to day affairs, offering a seamless operation from waking up to going to bed. There will be times when a formal butler approach is required e.g. when entertaining however this is not required on a day to day basis. The role will require you to travel on a regular basis. Duties will include but not limited to:
- Setting table to suit the occasion,
- Welcoming guests, putting them at ease and acting as the front of house for the family
- Making refreshments throughout the day including Tea/Coffee for the family and or guests/contractors
- Working with the chef to prepare menus in line with the client’s preferences and or guest dietary requirements
- Serve lunch/dinner in the requested style
- Responsible for making sure house/kitchen is stocked in conjunction with the needs of the Chef/Housekeeper/House Manager
- Polishing silver/Cleaning shoes/Wardrobe management
- Looking after wine cellar and maintaining and accurate inventories
- Set up properties (domestic and international) for the principal’s arrival, travelling in advance if applicable or liaising with local staff member of staff in advance
- When family are travelling, ensure all essential items are packed including medication and supplements
- Light housekeeping duties e.g. making the bed, ironing, putting the washing machine on if travelling or Housekeeper is unavailable
Candidate requirements
- You will be able to demonstrate a clear ability to deliver exceptional butler service in a wide variety of styles
- Formal butler training is a distinct advantage
- You will be adaptable to the client’s preferences including formal or informal service
- Flexible to travel with the family to London, Italy and USA as required throughout the year (Visa will be arranged)
- Private household experience
- Organised
- Respectful of the principal’s privacy while maintaining an approachable and friendly manner
DBS check required at offer stage
Accommodation:
- Fixed accommodation provided at Wiltshire property and accommodation provided when travelling.
- They are open to considering live-out candidates if they within a reasonable commute from the client’s property in Wiltshire.
