Join us as a Treasury Capital Lead
  • In this key role, you'll ensure that capital resources are distributed appropriately across the bank by steering and driving capital activity to reduce external capital costs
  • You'll also be a central point of contact for balance sheet management and the Treasurer on all capital plan matters, and the primary liaison with the regulators for all capital plans
  • You'll have the chance to work with a wide variety of stakeholders, giving you a platform to raise your network and career profile across the bank
What you'll do
As a Treasury Capital Lead, you'll make recommendations to the Group Treasurer for all major capital supply actions including distributions, issuances, redemptions and injections, and guide franchises in their utilisation of capital resources. You'll also collaborate with local legal Treasury entity teams and allocated Treasury teams to limit underutilised legal entity capital resources by optimising the deployment of capital resources within the bank's entities and ensuring consistent application of the capital strategy.
Day-to-day, you'll be:
  • Ensuring the robustness of capital plans, and appropriateness of controls to capital planning activities, including contribution to management of the organisation's relationship with its regulators
  • Driving and challenging all capital planning activity in the bank, including distributions, redemptions and issuance, and ensuring alignment of capital action timing, currency, and tenor
  • Undertaking the delivery of capital action proposals to relevant legal entity boards
  • Working with the relevant teams, wider Treasury and the business to deliver an optimised capital strategy that gives consideration to other balance sheet constraints related to liquidity, funding and costs to the franchises of balance sheet decisions
  • Making sure that the bank and legal entity capital plans are evaluated with an emphasis on accuracy and optimisation, followed by a review and evaluation of the rolling forecast
  • Overseeing and managing the delivery of the Group's Internal Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) for ring-fence bank sub-group and main UK non-ring fence bank entity
The skills you'll need
To be successful in this role, you'll need strong knowledge and experience of capital, and a reasonable understanding of treasury matters including ALM, FTP, funding and liquidity. You'll also have the ability to manage and deliver to deadlines, engaging across multiple teams, to produce output for relevant teams and regulatory bodies.
Additionally, you'll need:
  • Experience in communicating and presenting to all levels and managing relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
  • The ability and willingness to communicate alternative information, constructing compelling insights to support opinions
  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
