Job description

Would you like the opportunity to get in at the start of a new initiative? Develop and create a new service to help people achieve a better quality of life through a personalised approach? Do you want to enable people to have efficient and easy access to the excellent services and support delivered by charities and community organisations?

BCP Council are developing an innovative Trusted Reviewer Programme as part of the Councils wider Personalisation Programme of which they have asked CAN to partner with them on its coproduction.

The council’s priority is to support residents to live fulfilled lives within vibrant communities and to have an outstanding quality of life where everyone plays an active role adding life to years and years to life for residents.

The Care Act 2014 has firmly established personal budgets, choice and control into the ways care and support needs are met. This strengths-based approach uses different thinking about how, fundamentally, people, their carers and their wider family are supported.

The Personalisation Programme has several aligned and complementary projects to ensure positive changes and good outcomes for those who are supported including:

·         the implementation of Individual Service Funds,

·         the development of a community and micro enterprise programme

·         the development of the Trusted Reviewer Programme

The Trusted Reviewer Programme will see us collaboratively develop an innovative programme of support for individuals who have support plans to ensure they have what they need, would like and want to have a good life.

We’re recruiting 2.5 FTE  Trusted Reviewers to support the development of our new Trusted Reviewer Programme made possible through investment from BCP Council.

We are looking for enthusiastic people, who enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders to develop something meaningful for the community, to join our team. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time as we create and develop the Trusted Reviewer Programme offering significant opportunities for innovation, development, and growth in a supportive friendly environment.

About you

You’ll have a good understanding of the work of an umbrella infrastructure such as CAN and the benefits the voluntary and community sector (VCS) can and do bring the community.   You’ll understand how the local public sector works with the VCS including BCP Council, NHS Dorset, Public Health and have a desire to see them working more efficiently and effectively together.

As a people person with great interpersonal skills, you’ll be able to build and maintain excellent professional relationships too to connect and develop solutions which meet people’s needs.

The closing date for applications is Monday 25th March 2024

Interviews will be held week commencing 15th April 2024 at Beech House, Poole
