About the Lay Trustee Role:
This voluntary Lay Trustee role offers an opportunity to be part of a prestigious, world-renowned organisation that aims to ensure high-quality care for patients by improving standards and influencing policy and practice in modern medicine. It sets standards for clinical practice, conducts examinations, and defines and monitors education and training programmes.
As a Lay Trustee, your role is pivotal in driving the strategic vision for Digital Transformation initiatives within the organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of the organisation by leveraging digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency, member engagement, and overall organisational effectiveness.
You will be responsible for:
- Establishing a Digital Committee and setting key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of Digital Transformation initiatives. Regularly review and report on the progress of digital projects to the Board.
- Development of the Digital Strategy strategy aligned with our mission and goals.
- Providing leadership in identifying, evaluating, and adopting emerging digital technologies that can positively impact our operations, education, and member services.
- Providing oversight on data security, privacy, and ethical considerations related to Digital Transformation and ensuring that digital initiatives comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Working closely with the Board to assess and mitigate risks associated with digital initiatives, ensuring a balance between innovation and prudent risk management.
- Foster collaboration between internal teams and external stakeholders to create a culture of innovation and digital excellence. Actively engage with RCP members to understand their digital needs and expectations.
- Overseeing relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring effective vendor selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing performance monitoring. Collaborate with vendors to align their services with our strategic objectives.
- Advocate for Digital inclusion and accessibility, ensuring that Digital Transformation efforts benefit all members of our community
