The https://www.cityandguildsartschool.ac.uk/about-us/governance/ - Trustees are collectively responsible for the general control of the administration of the Art School charity. They ensure its effective governance, provide their expert knowledge and act as ambassadors, championing the Art School and its work. The role of Trustee should be a rewarding experience, providing an opportunity to make use of one's skills and experience to make a difference.
Trustees are appointed for a term of three years, though may subsequently be re-appointed for a further two terms of three years. The Chair of the Board is Jamie Bill.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking candidates who share an enthusiasm and commitment to arts education but who can also bring diverse skills to help the Art School thrive and grow in an ever more challenging environment.

We are especially keen to broaden the overall diversity of our Board.

Following a recent Governance Review, we are looking for Trustees experienced in the following areas:

ACCOUNTANCY AND/OR AUDITING
Candidates should have accountancy or auditing qualifications recognised in the UK and demonstrable senior experience of accountancy and auditing. We are looking for someone who has some experience of charity finances, and has the skills to examine proposals and analyse their financial consequences.

ARTIST PRACTITIONER
We are looking for a practicing artist to join our Board, who is sympathetic with the aims, ethos and practice base of the Art School, who will be a voice for artists, and who is prepared to act as an ambassador for the Art School.

LEGAL
We are seeking a legal professional; particular experience of charity/ employment/ property law is desirable but not essential.
