Tutor / Cover Supervisor

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Tutor / Cover Supervisor to support a Year 10 pupil in a SEMH Secondary School in Wigan. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a student's academic and personal growth while enjoying a flexible work schedule. You will also be expected to cover a range of lessons across the school (small class sizes) to support with staff absences.
Position: 1:1 Tutor for SEMH Secondary School in Wigan
Location: Wigan
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday, term time
Pay: £100 - £125 per day
Level: Up to GCSE
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised academic support to a Year 10 pupil with SEMH needs for a couple of hours in the morning
- Deliver tailored lessons in line with the GCSE curriculum
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to track and report on student progress
- Implement strategies to address the unique learning needs of the student
- For the rest of the day, you will cover any lessons throughout school as required to cover staff sickness, some preparation may be involved
Requirements:
- Qualified teacher status or relevant tutoring experience / Cover Supervisor work
- Ability to teach up to GCSE level
- Understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students in a 1:1 setting
