AddressWe are looking for 2 part time Catering Assistants at Caerphilly County Borough Council offices in Ystrad Mynach. These roles will form part of our award-winning Catering Team based at The Hive in Ty Penallta.
The role will see the successful candidates working under the supervision of the Cook in Charge, supporting both, the provision of food and beverages at the Hive Restaurant alongside our essential Meals Direct Service. Here you will help the catering service to operate effectively whilst complying with our policies and procedures to so that food safety regulations are adhered to. Great communication skills are a must as you will be liaising with council staff and visitors plus our Meals Direct team.
You may be asked to work at other locations in the borough should the need arise. Ideally you will also hold a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Hygiene and Catering but don’t worry if you don’t, we can support you in achieving this alongside other appropriate courses relevant to the post.
Both roles are permanent with one working 17.5 hours per week, thats Monday to Friday 3.5 hours per day. The other is 12.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 2.5 hours each day. Please indicate on your application form which would be your preference or "no preference” if you dont mind.
We pay an attractive salary of £12.00 per hour and offer access to training and development opportunities.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- Level 2 Food Safety or be willing to undertake and achieve the qualification within 3 months in the role.
- A general understanding of the catering sector in order to meet the needs of the service.
- If you do not hold a Level 2 Award in Food Safety and Hygiene in catering, we hope you will be prepared to receive food safety awareness training and other appropriate courses relevant to the post.
