Job Description
Rev & Regs are recruiting for a Typesetter position for a large multinational Financial Services company in Exeter.
Responsibilities:
- Use electronic industry standard publishing software to layout and typeset information provided in various formats (word, e-mail, excel, PDFs etc) and typeset accurately into pre agreed templates provided.
- Creative design and production of documents including sales documents.
- Accept work and prioritise in accordance to internal Service Levels.
- Adhere to departmental work schedules to ensure client deadlines achieved.
- Read page proofs prior to sending to in-house Proof Reader (quality controller).
- Ensure all work is saved with required version controls for accurate identification of updates throughout lifecycle of the document.
- Record time spent on each activity for later billing to clients.
- Record all individual daily activities within the standard departmental time sheets.
- Manage time effectively in conjunction with other team members to ensure cover at all times.
- To understand in detail the specifics/procedures for all areas of typesetting i.e. closed and open-ended.
- To be able to interpret and produce graphical data within the industry standard software for inclusion in all relevant literature.
- To understand both internal and external print requirements for both closed and open-ended work.
- To fully understand and be able to accurately sign off hard copy proofs.
- To protect the integrity of all templates and in-house documents at all times.
- To proactively manage own workload ensuring that where possible all work is prioritised in line with departmental requirements and be available to assist with any other departmental duties.
Experience:
- A track record in and/or proven ability to deliver quality work to strict deadlines.
- Personal commitment to and visible role modelling of the organisation's behaviours and values.
- Previous experience of working in a Financial Services environment (desirable but not essential).
- Previous knowledge of working in a regulated environment (desirable but not essential).
- Previous Experience of working with Reports and Accounts (desirable but not essential).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat.
