Job description

About the role

If you're motivated by a diverse workload and relish the chance to collaborate with a wide array of individuals – from students and parents to educators and university colleagues – then look no further.

Our UK Student Recruitment Officers are based within the Future Students Office and lead on the recruitment of UK students nationwide. The role encompasses home Student Recruitment and outreach, alongside developing, managing and implementing strategies to realise our commitment to widening participation in higher education alongside a varied workload on UK Student Recruitment Projects.

You’ll have the chance to showcase our university nationwide and on campus. From large scale exhibitions to visiting schools delivering inspiring talks and workshops, you'll proudly represent the university, spreading the word about what makes the University of Leicester unique. Your role will also include setting and exceeding recruitment targets, all while aligning with our institutional objectives and Access and Participation Targets.

About you

In this position, you'll need to be a great communicator, adept at building relationships and delivering information effectively and in an engaging manner. Coupled with a relevant degree, you should have prior experience in 13-19 education, further education, or higher education environments.
Excelling in this role requires more than just conventional skills – you'll need to demonstrate innovative thinking, proposing creative solutions, analysing data, and crafting comprehensive reports, correspondence, and other documents.

Additional information

For informal enquiries please contact Hannah Wake (Student Recruitment Manager) at hannah.wake@le.ac.uk.
We anticipate that interviews will take place on 18 April 2024.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 because the appointee will have substantial access to young people and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, an appointment to this post will be subject to checking and appropriate clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The successful applicant for this post will, therefore, be required to give consent for the University to check with the DBS for the existence and content of any criminal record in the form of an Enhanced Disclosure. Information received from the DBS and the police will be kept in strict confidence and will be destroyed once the University is satisfied in this regard.

Due to the remit of the role and make-up of our current team, candidates are required to be based in, or within commutable distance from our main campus in Leicester.

The University of Leicester has been changing the world, and changing people’s lives, for 100 years. When you join us, you’ll become part of a community of Citizens of Change, which includes not only our staff and our current students but also thousands of Leicester graduates around the world.
As a diverse and forward-thinking employer, we embed the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion into everything we do. That includes not just our core missions of teaching and research, but also our support for staff, students and our local community through our values of Inspiring, Impactful and Inclusive.
We’re committed to the wellbeing of all our staff and to the sustainability of our environment, on our campus and beyond. We offer a competitive salary package, excellent pension scheme and a generous annual leave allowance, along with opportunities to develop your career in a supportive and collaborative environment.
