Job description

The Planning, Performance & Mobilisation Lead role is a key strategic role within the Northwest Senior Leadership Team, responsible for leading the Area Deployment, Capability and Performance agenda for Universal Credit across the Northwest and Universal Credit Review.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates:

  • Experience of developing strong stakeholder relationships and connecting stakeholders, encouraging, and influencing collaboration.
  • Exceptional leadership judgement, knowing when to switch from strategic thinking to operational delivery.
  • Significant experience of leading, shaping and developing a team.
  • A successful track record of leading and dealing with complex data and identifying trends.
  • A solution-focused approach which takes account of the bigger strategic picture and people-related impacts to enable organisational change and improvement across a broad and complex portfolio.

You will be responsible for driving performance coaching and embedding a culture of continual performance improvement. As the area performance lead, you will be responsible for drawing Service Leaders together to focus on continuous improvement and creating a coaching environment.

You will use your analytical skills to identify trends and highlight areas of best practice and concern. You will identify trends and areas for improvement, developing strategies to overcome. You will work in partnership with Service Leaders and operate as a critical friend providing support and challenge. You will be responsible for providing assurance to the Area & Group Directors around performance, escalating concerns and risks as appropriate.

You will have leadership responsibility for the area capability lead responsible for building capability of all our people, this includes leadership and technical capability. You will lead this work through a network of capability leads and the district leadership teams.

You will be the Area Director Quality Lead, responsible for Leading and Managing Great Service national network and driving the quality agenda through district leads.

You will have leadership accountability for deployment and premises, ensuring we have the right skills and capacity in the right place, and we are operating within our FTE allocation.

You will provide leadership in landing and implementing the ‘UC Move’ journey for the Area. Working in conjunction with national design teams and Ares leaders to land key messages and change.

You will operate as an integral member of Area Senior Leadership Team driving collaboration and consistency across the area, activity, and initiatives, contributing to the improved customer outcomes.
