University Assistant Professor In Machine Intelligence

Applications are invited for a University Assistant Professor in Machine Intelligence. The successful candidate will join the Department of Engineering's Information Engineering Division at its central Cambridge site to add to its broad expertise in Machine Intelligence, including vision-related methods. Key to advances in areas such as Robotics, Remote Imaging and Computer Vision are new techniques in computational methods and algorithms, especially regarding scalability and deployability in real-world systems with limited resource. Possible areas of specialisation for the post include Cyber-physical Systems, Augmented/Virtual Reality, Automation, Distributed Imaging Systems, Satellite Imagery, Wearable Computing and Multiple Agent Systems, Machine Learning and AI. The holder of the post will be well placed to start a new topic of research in the department, or to enhance an already existing area of expertise in Robotics, Computer Vision and Machine Learning. They will be expected to contribute significantly to areas of our undergraduate teaching programme including Information, Signal Processing and Control, to our MPhil in Machine Learning and Machine Intelligence, including lecturing, assessment and project supervision, and to advance our portfolio of collaborations with other Divisions of the department, UKRI funding bodies and industry In exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to offer a small supplement to the salary range stated for this role for a five-year period.
