We are planning for upcoming vacancies to prepare for a number of roles that will become available during 2024.

We are running a recruitment drive to look for potential firefighters to support the delivery of Rescue and Firefighting Services at Glasgow International Airport.

These exciting roles, on a busy Cat 10 airport, provide fantastic opportunities for personal and career development in the aviation sector.

Candidates must have the following:

• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changings situations or demands of the job
• The capability and confidence to take the lead and put themselves / ideas forward
• The ability to work as a team to support others

• Have and maintain high standards, whilst demonstrating good teamwork and strong communication skills
• Work well under pressure and in challenging scenarios

All selected candidates will be expected to undertake each stage of the recruitment process on the dates below. Please note that dates may be subject to change due to operational requirements:

• 16th April 2024: Stage 1: be prepared to undertake and pass academic online assessments (Literacy and Numeracy)
• 29th April 2024: Stage 2: physical fitness—Bleep Test - minimum of level 9.4 required and Chester Step test - minimum of 42 V02 aerobic capacity as well as testing candidates strength, grip, and muscular endurance
• W\C 29th April 2024: Stage 3: practical selection tests
• W\C 6th May 2024: Stage 4: competency-based interview

Essential criteria for the Fire Fighter role would be:

• Have the right to work in the UK
• Valid UK Full Driving Licence
• Meets CAA/Falck medical standards

Desirable criteria:

• Aviation / Fire Service Experience
• LGV Driving Licence ‘C’’

The successful candidate will be required to maintain the following:

• A required level of technical competencies as defined by Civil Aviation Authority and Falck Fire Services
• Be required to undertake security checks and references to gain Airside Security Clearance
• Attendance of training courses as agreed by the regulator and the Company
• Maintaining medical & physical fitness
