The opportunity: Head of Distribution, Purfleet Essex (Hybrid). Interim.

This is a new opportunity to lead our distribution function and team to deliver a first class culture and operation which maximises all assets and partners to drive incremental income.

A Brief Snapshot of the Opportunity:

  • This role provides strategic leadership and general management to the Distribution Centre with full P&L responsibility, driving the performance of the operation to ensure objectives are achieved and all operational and financial targets are met
  • You and your team will also provide an effective service for other Nestware Group businesses located in Purfleet NDC.
  • You will lead, manage, and develop the performance of your team to achieve successful results, fostering a positive and customer service driven culture
  • Building cross functional relationships within Carpetright and Group businesses within Nestware is key to the success of this opportunity.
  • You will be required to support strategic plans and projects within Carpetright and the other group businesses.

 

About Your Experience:

  • You will need to have proven experience in a leadership role within a similar scale of logistics operations; leading and delivering extensive change
  • Previous leadership and motivation of high performing teams
  • You will demonstrate the ability to control costs and deliver incremental income streams
  • A good understanding of key industry legal and compliance frameworks is important
  • Financial and commercial understanding is key, ideally with prior P&L responsibility
  • Educated to degree-level is desirable but not essential

  • The ability to coach, lead and motivate teams is essential
  • You’re self-motivated, clear, and a confident communicator at all levels of the organisation
