Validation Lead

Randstad are recruiting for a Validation Lead for a client based in Bristol. They are a rapidly growing company that specialises in manufacturing high pressure hydraulic components and systems for a variety of industries.

A great candidate will blend three core skills:

• Grow and manage a Validation team
• A strong technical background with the ability to design and carry out Validation testing for electromechanical products
• Great technical leadership skills and an ability to lead teams to test and deliver high quality products and technologies

Key Responsibilities

• Get hands on with the Servo Valves products and become a technical expert
• Drive product improvements through data and solid engineering analysis using digital tools
• Lead the design and implementation of test plans, working with the digital and rig design teams to deliver testing using existing and new test rig hardware and software
• Recruit, onboard and mentor new team members to maintain a highly skilled and motivated workforce
• Conduct regular 1-2-1s, performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Maintain a high standard of work quality within the team, ensuring compliance with internal and customer requirements
• Spearhead the identification and implementation of new tools, equipment and methodologies to enhance the product validation process
• Act as a point of contact for technical inquiries from both internal and external parties, demonstrating deep expertise in valve product Validation
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, ensuring that the Validation processes remain at the forefront of technology

Essential requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in product Validation, preferably in the hydraulics, fluid dynamics, or related industries
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in managing and developing technical teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Proficiency in relevant tools and software used in product validation and engineering analysis

Beneficial requirements

• In-depth knowledge of servo valve technology, hydraulic systems, and associated testing methodologies is a plus
• Project management or technical lead experience and a track record of delivering results on time and within budget
• A passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process enhancements
• Programming and data analysis using Python

This is a full time permanent position with a salary of £50,000 depending on experience, flexible start and finish times and a 9 day working fortnight.

The role is fully on site and will predominantly be based at our client's production facility just outside of Bristol.
