Job Title: Vehicle Conversion Technician / Fitter
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Conversion Technician / Fitter to join our manufacturing team in Bristol, SouthWest BS1. The primary responsibility of this role is to build Van Conversions according to the correct specifications, within specified timelines, and in a cost-effective manner. The successful candidate will ensure that all conversions meet the required standards set out by Work Instructions, Manufacturers, and Industry Bodies.
Skills:- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in Vehicle Conversions or similar roles- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools- Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring diagrams- Familiarity with automotive components and their installation processes- Ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions accurately- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Responsibilities:- Review work orders and technical drawings to understand conversion requirements- Assemble van interiors based on specifications provided by manufacturers or clients- Install electrical systems including lighting fixtures, power outlets, wiring harnesses, etc.- Fit various automotive components such as seating arrangements, storage units, insulation materials, etc.- Ensure accurate measurement of materials for precise fitting during the conversion process- Conduct quality checks throughout the assembly process to identify any defects or issues promptly- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to optimize production processes- Maintain a clean work area at all times- Follow safety protocols diligently
Qualifications:- Proven experience as a Vehicle Conversion Technician or similar role is desirable- Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics- Knowledge of health & safety regulations within a manufacturing environment- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while meeting deadlines
