Permanent Full Time

The purpose of the Vehicle Inspector is to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient examination standards within the examination team under their control in accordance with Central Engineering Standard Operating Procedures.

Main Areas of Responsibility

• Leadership and Motivation of the Vehicle Examination Team.
• To carry out Maintenance and Safety Audits.
• To fully comply with all HS & E legislation along with Group policies.
• To fully comply with all relevant Engineering SOPs.
• To provide guidance to other staff as required.

About you 

• You must have at minimum, a level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent certification and on the job working experience.
• Must be aware of the DVSA standards for both the categorisation of defects (Spot checks/enforcement) and annual test.
• Are you fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment including, hydraulic vehicle lifts, pressurised oil and waste systems, battery chargers and starters, trolley jacks, scaffolding, pressure wash and automatic washing equipment, headlamp alignment tester, hydraulic jacks and testing equipment, drilling machine, torque wrenches, pedestal grinders and general portable equipment (i.e., air guns, drills, electric and pneumatic hand tools etc) as required?
• You must be willing to attend appropriate underpinning training opportunities such as NC in Supervisory Management and Engineering and/or Corporate Membership of IRTE and must complete them to the suitable standard within an agreed timescale.
• Do you hold full UK driving licence? 
• Do you hold a full PSV/PCV licence? If not, we can help you obtain this. 
• Are you willing to show flexibility in respect to working hours and job roles to ensure that commitments are fulfilled?

Working shifts: Monday to Friday 06:00 - 14:00/ 12:00 - 20:00

Salary: £32, 500.00
