Job description

There has never been a better time to join the Trust’s Fleet and Equipment team as a Vehicle Production Manager. This new County based role will manage and coordinate day to day operations within our Fleet and Equipment team across the county with the aim of maximising the availability of ambulances and equipment for the delivery of patient care.
You will join our team during a period of transformation as we prepare to implement our new Ambulance Vehicle Preparation (AVP) service. Our current teams perform a deep clean of an ambulance every 6 weeks. In contrast, AVP involves cleaning, restocking and refueling ambulances every day. We are implementing AVP because we need to adapt and change to respond to growing pressure from increasing patient demand levels and the expectation is that changing our ways of working will increase the availability of resources for our patients.
We are looking for a committed, passionate person to create and develop an engaged and highly motivated team by providing positive, inspirational and highly visible leadership, acting as an ambassador for the new Ambulance Vehicle Preparation (AVP) service.
For further information about AVP, follow this link to a short videohttps://vimeo.com/737833133/67b03c85c9.
Please note, the intention is to hold interviews in February to maximise the availability of candidates.
Most importantly you will lead and inspire a team of people, but ultimately you will be responsible for ensuring vehicles and equipment are prepared and maintained to meet business requirements in ways that contribute positively toward patient care.
This includes being responsible for the management and coordination of physical and human resources, ensuring they are efficient and effective and operate within budgetary, performance and health & safety parameters.
You will be expected to work with multi-disciplinary teams to continuously develop and evolve productive and efficient ways of working, and contribute to Fleet & Equipment strategy development.
This role will require a hands on approach working with the Deputy Head of Ambulance Vehicle Preparation to ensure performance measures are achieved and operational performance is maintained.
