Vehicle Technician

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Norwich/Bury St Edmunds

Working Hours: Monday - Friday

Salary: GBP30,000-GBP45,000 per annum OTE Uncapped

Catering to both individual and corporate clients, we provide a diverse range of new and pre-owned cars and vans for sale, along with servicing, repairs, and maintenance from our Norwich, Kings Lynn & Bury St. Edmunds sites.

The Role Vehicle Technician:

As Vehicle Technician, whether it s a routine checkup or a major overhaul, your hands-on expertise will breathe new life into every vehicle that graces our workshop. Your skillset will be a combination of technical ability and problem-solving finesse, with an unwavering dedication to precision.

This role is not merely about repairing vehicles but also about bridging the gap between technical jargon and customer understanding. You ll be the friendly face explaining complex issues in a way that makes sense to every vehicle owner, building trust and ensuring satisfaction.

Responsibilities Vehicle Technician:

  • Take care of customers vehicles whilst being worked on, ensuring appropriate protection to keep the car clean and undamaged.
  • Have pride in your work and strive for excellence in each and every repair. Ensuring each vehicle is returned to the customer in top-notch condition, giving you a source of professional satisfaction.
  • Foster a collaborative attitude within your team, sharing knowledge and skills to collectively improve the quality of service.
  • To complete work consistently and efficiently whilst adhering to manufacturer and company standards.
  • Liaise with the service team to ensure that an informed diagnosis can be made on each vehicle to enable Advisors to acquire customer authorisation.
  • When required, liaise with the customer directly to communicate jargon-free technical information to ensure the customer understands and recognises value for money.
  • Ensure any opportunity for additional work required is reported to the service team on each vehicle worked.
  • Share knowledge and best practice and where appropriate mentor and guide Apprentice Technicians.
  • Utilise diagnostic tools and technology to help simplify the troubleshooting process. Advanced diagnostic equipment can help streamline the repair process.
  • Ensure any parts for Warranty claims are returned clean and packaged and labelled correctly.
  • Maintain clear and organised job cards of all repairs, maintenance and diagnostics.
  • Follow manufacturer guidelines and technical specifications for all repairs and maintenance.
  • Completing all repairs in a timely manner whilst maintaining top-notch quality of work, this will cultivate trust, loyalty and a reputation for delivering exceptional service.
  • Record and send electronic vehicle health-checks.
  • Achieve efficiency and performance targets.
  • Attend all training required and recommended by the Company and/or manufacturer.

Person Specification Vehicle Technician:

  • Experienced and proficient in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining vehicles.

  • Actively engage in sharing insights, ideas, and best practices, ensuring stakeholders are kept well-informed through clear and succinct communication.
  • Assume complete responsibility and ownership for delivering exceptional customer experiences, aiming to uphold high levels of satisfaction and retention.
  • Make significant contributions to team efforts, maintaining a positive outlook and the ability to self-motivate while effectively managing multiple tasks in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

  • Valid clean driving licence.
