Auto Technician / Mechanic. Caribbean.Turks and Caicos Islands.Up to US$6,750 / month tax free.
Thatcher Associates is a UK based recruitment company.We are working with a long-standing client based in the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands, which is a British overseas territory.
We are supporting our client to help them secureTWO experienced British trained Auto Mechanics with 5-10 years experience.
The role would suit an Auto Mechanic who has been working in industy or an Army / REME Auto Mechanic who is leaving the services soon (or who has already left).
ROLE:
As a technician you will be responsible for delivering a high standard of service and building a strong customer relationships. This will be a hands-on technical role within a close-knit team, therefore team working skills are essential. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivering excellent results whilst maintaining high productivity
Working with the team to provide a high standard of communication and problem solving.
A Strong Customer Focus
Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical and Diagnostic Work
Full understanding of Vehicle Air Conditioning Systems
Preparing professional and technical written reports for customers and service advisors
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational Experience Minimum of NVQ Level 3 and minimum 5 years experience after qualified.
Knowledge and experience of using diagnostic scan tools and reading wiring schematics.
MET Qualification preferred but not essential (welding & body panels)
Knowledge of Methods, Techniques, Parts, Tools & Materials used in the Maintenance and Repair of Vehicles
Experience in Testing, Diagnostics, HVAC service, Hydraulic, Brakes, Testing and Repair of Electronic Systems and Modules.
Pay is tax free in USD$, at up to $6,750 per month (£5,200).
Initial and repatriation flights will also be provided but accommodation will need to be paid for locally by the employee a decent one bed apartment could cost up to USD$2,000 per month.
Work permits are paid for by the employer.
Holiday is 21 days plus local bank holidays.
Working week is five days plus a Saturday morning. Overtime is available.
STATUS:
The post is best suited to a single person.
HEALTH AND POLICE RECORD:
To complete the work permit process, the successful candidate must undergo a medical, including screening tests for HIV, Hepatitis and VDRL. You will also need to be vaccinated for MMR, Polio, and Tetanus and have a clear Police record.
TIMING:
Please note that the application process can take three months from start to arrival (two months for gathering vaccinations and Police certificate, and one month for processing locally).
