Job Title: Vehicle Technician Salary: £35,000- £45,000 (depending on experience) Overtime: Unlimited and paid at x1.5 Call Out Rota: Optional on 4 week rota and paid at £180 p/week Package: 25 days holiday 8 statutory option to buy/sell maximum of 5 days, x4 Life Assurance Contributory Pension Location: Lewes, East Sussex The Company This role will be based at one of the largest vehicle maintenance and repair workshops in the region serving a wide range of clients including commercial businesses, local authorities, and emergency services. Their expertise encompasses fleet maintenance, body shop, paint shop facilities, fabrication, welding, and more. Due to contract wins and high demand for their services they are currently seeking experienced Vehicle Technicians to join their team. The Role & Responsibilities: As a Vehicle Technician your key objectives will include: Performing planned maintenance and emergency (breakdown) repairs on various vehicles, including those of dealerships, the NHS trust, emergency services, and more. Conducting major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other fleet vehicles. Performing regular inspections and preventive maintenance services to DVSA standards. Demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions effectively. Maintaining a keen awareness of health and safety, ensuring safe work practices and risk assessments. Collaborating with teams to diagnose and plan vehicle repairs. Keeping records of vehicles that have been repaired or serviced. Providing repair services and emergency breakdown assistance to clients on the road. Completing necessary documentation, including warranty claims or escalations. Qualifications & Experience: To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications: Full driving license (LGV license is advantageous but not essential). NVQ III or City and Guilds Motor vehicle repair certification. Knowledge of various makes and models of vehicles and equipment. To excel in this position, you should: - Be a qualified and experienced Technician with a passion for your work. - Be available to cover 24-hour breakdowns on a rotational basis. - Be a team player with high standards for vehicle maintenance and repair. Training and development will include: - Dealer training. - HGV training. - Safety and Environment training. - Roadside working/recovery training.
