The Role
Farnborough International is looking for a proactive and hands-on Marketing Manager to strengthen its world-class team as it continues to grow its position in the events market and expand the portfolio of leading events.
Working as part of the Venue Marketing Team, the Venue Marketing Manager will join our dedicated team to help deliver a wide range of exciting initiatives and campaigns across the Farnborough International brand.
They will play an active role in delivering a diverse marketing programme covering our purpose-built 20,000 square metre venue, Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre, supporting the growth of our venue clients and our own increasing portfolio of owned and partnered events.
The role directly reports to the Head of Venue Marketing, overseen by the Venue Director and Marketing Director.
The Skills & Competencies
- Marketing or related degree or equivalent qualification desirable but not essential
- Event organiser or Venue Marketing experience desirable but not essential
- Strong organisational skills and effective time management
- Proven marketing and communication skills, including developing and delivering marketing campaigns and plans, including media planning/buying
- Experience in MarTech platforms (Active Campaign, Buffer etc.) with the ability to learn different systems
- Strong digital and social marketing knowledge, from user journey planning to continuous optimisation of activities for best performance
- Experience of working directly or with agencies on paid digital campaigns (PPC and social)
- Commercially minded and strategic outlook
- A team player willing to collaborate with different internal and external teams
- Creative thinker with confidence to voice new ideas
- Analytical approach to research competitors and market trends
- Excellent copywriting writing and communications skills
- Experience in developing effective marketing collateral across print and digital media
- Pro-active, organised and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency across outlined tools

- Microsoft Office suite
- Website CMS (Umbraco/Wordpress) and Google Analytics
- Social media content production, scheduling and monitoring
- CRM Ungerboeck, Engage or similar
- Email and marketing automation - Active Campaign or similar
- Graphic design & content production Canva, Adobe Suite or similar
- Video editing - desirable, not essential
- Other digital marketing platforms as appropriate
The Contract & Benefits
Contract; Permanent, fulltime role, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Location; Hybrid role working from the office in Farnborough 3 days per week and home based 2 days per week
Compensation: GBP35 to 38k per annum, depending on experience
