We have a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant to join our team here at Regan Veterinary Group at our Little Lane Clinic in Wigan!
Your new role will involve working 35 hours per week over 4/5 days, covering Monday-Friday with a 1:4 share in the Saturday rota.
The Patient Care Assistant role is one of the foundations of an outstanding veterinary practice, as a PCA you would be involved in supporting our team of qualified RVNs and Vets to provide outstanding care to our patients, working alongside a lovely team of people.
This role will involve animal handling, assisting vets and nurses in restraining animals for treatment, cleaning, walking and feeding patients, general cleaning and maintenance duties and will also include covering reception when needed, where you will be answering phone calls, greeting clients and providing the highest standards of animal and customer care.
We are looking for someone who really cares about animals. Our ideal candidate will have had some experience with animals before, have excellent interpersonal skills and be a real team player.
Main duties:
- Nursing care to patients
- Assisting vets and nurses in restraining animals for treatment
- Cleaning, walking, and feeding of patients
- Preparation of emergency and operating facilities
- General cleaning and maintenance duties
- Running internal lab samples
- Answering emergency calls
- Covering the receptionist desk, including answering queries, booking appointments and taking payments
- To provide a friendly, efficient and effective service to clients
The salary for this position will be in line with National Minimum Wage +3% cost of living increase.
