Veterinary Receptionist

River Veterinary Care is a newly opened Small Animal independent practice in Ponteland. Our ethos is to build a happy working environment with a good work life balance, whilst offering gold standard of care to all our patients.

We are looking for a Veterinary Receptionist that is passionate about animal welfare, who will thrive working as part of a small team from an independent veterinary practice.

• Full time position 09:00 - 17:30 Monday to Friday
• 1 in 3 weekends with time back or overtime for additional hours worked
• £11.44 per hour (National living wage)
• 5.6 weeks holiday including bank holidays

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Greet clients and their pets with a warm friendly manner
• Schedule appointments and diary management
• Taking phone calls and responding to client enquiries
• Handling incoming email queries appropriately
• Processing payments and insurance claims
• Be detail orientated and maintain accurate client/ patient records
• Assist veterinarians and veterinary nurses with various tasks as needed
• Previous experience working in a veterinary environment with knowledge of veterinary terminology/ procedures is desirable but not essential
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organisational skills are essential
• Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in using computers and the willingness to learn new systems
