Job description

Veterinary Surgeon - Millpark Veterinary Centre Ltd, Newent
Salary up to £70,000 dependent on experience plus a welcome bonus of up to £5,000 and a relocation allowance up to £5,000

Build relationships alongside your career

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team here at Millpark Veterinary Centre!

We are a small animal practice in the heart of our local community, priding ourselves on giving high quality care to all our patients and clients. We have a varied caseload, enabling our clinical team to work together and discuss cases , while providing ample opportunity and consultation time for you to work up cases and build relationships and strong bonds with our clients and patients.

Work-life balance that works for you

We understand that life outside of your career is just as important, which is why we offer flexible rota patterns and working hours tailored to your needs. Whether you prefer a fixed or flexible schedule, we've got you covered.
Our full time vets have the option of a four-day week, while part-time colleagues can enjoy early finishes, all without OOH, on-call, or bank holiday duties.

Our close-knit team

We have 2 vets, 3 RVNs, 2 VCAs, 4 reception team, and a practice panager.
We are looking for someone who isn't afraid to get stuck in, likes the variety that a small rural practice provides and is happy to eat cake (we like to bake!) There will be plenty of opportunity to progress and learn with CPD, and to help shape the practice for the future.
Joining our close-knit team means becoming part of a veterinary family with decades of experience. Our clinical director has been with us for over 20 years, and our team of RVNs, VCAs, and reception staff will support and welcome you with open arms.

Our story at Millpark

Millpark is a small but fantastically well-equipped practice that was established over 30 years ago. We are just on the outskirts of Newent, within a 15-minute walk of the town centre. We have onsite parking for staff and clients. We service a wide area of Newent, nearby towns, villages, and the rural area as well, so there is a real mix of clients with many having been with us for decades. There are also great links to both Wales and Cheltenham, being only 30 minutes away.
We have the usual equipment that you would expect including;  digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring, and more, you'll have the tools to provide high levels of care. On top of that, our in-house lab facilities enable rapid on-site diagnosis, ensuring swift and accurate treatment for our clients' beloved pets.
We're more than just a practice – we're dedicated to giving back to the community. Collaborating with local schools, we participate in educational opportunities and strive to achieve the sustainability award with IVC - Positive Pawprint. We're passionate about sustainability and biodiversity, promoting recycling and caring for the environment.
