Job description

The Opportunity:

We are a well-equipped first-opinion small animal practice. Our main site is a purpose-built practice based in Redruth, with a branch in Camborne, in beautiful Cornwall not far from either coast. We have an amazing team who are highly supportive of each other and believe in treating every pet as their own and supporting the clients in every way we can.

Medivet Redruth practice first opened it's doors over half century ago and is known for having knowledgeable, friendly people to look after their very loved pets – history is very important to us, but so is the future. We still have traditional values but we are looking to continue on our exciting adventure improving and being the best we can possibly be in every aspect of the veterinary practice.

Our main site is a purpose built building with four consult rooms, two operating theatres, imaging and dental suites along with a large prep area.

We have the ISFM silver award (only missing out on the gold as we do not have our own out of hours) and very cat friendly with separate cat waiting area in reception and cat ward.

Our rolling rota allows for a great work/life balance which we feel is essential to allow time to enjoy the best things about living in idyllic Cornwall. Our full-time position is based on a 4-day week and just 1 in 3 Saturday mornings along with no OOH.

Key Benefits Include:

  • £1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days’ CPD leave; extensive in-house CPD training.
  • VDS, RCVS and BVA fees paid.
  • Certificates encouraged and funded.
  • 5 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Fantastic career progression and partnership opportunities.
  • 20% staff discount for own pets
  • Relocation allowance should you move more than 50 miles from your current address.
  • We can support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa

Please contact lee.britt@medivet.co.uk for a friendly initial conversation.

  • Educate clients on positive lifestyle choices for their pets.
