Job description

Calling all stargazers, nature enthusiasts, fell runners, rock climbers, birdwatchers, trainspotters, SUPpers, campers, kayakers, walkers- you name it! The Lake District is calling...we have tea, cake, Grasmere Gingerbread, and occasional sunshine!
If you’re looking for a flexible vet role where you can develop your skills and pursue areas of interest, then we have a great opportunity here for you at Kendal Vets for Pets!
Our practice is situated right at the edge of the Lake District, far enough to escape the tourists, but near enough to escape there after work. We’re only nine miles from the M6, which means you’ve got easy access to the rest of the UK. What’s more we’ve got a £5,000 relocation package on offer for anyone that would consider a move to our lovely corner of the country.
We’re generous with our CPD offering, which colleagues are actively encouraged to use to further their interests and develop their skills in a direction of their choosing. So, if you want to pursue a post graduate qualification or certificate, we’re happy to help support that.
You’ll be joining an inclusive, supportive team who are passionate about being at the heart of the local community. Our practice provides excellent facilities giving you access to all the equipment and space you need to care for your patients. We are in a great location with ample parking and great access to local amenities. Take a look at our google tour here.
This is a part time 30 hour position with no OOHs and Saturdays are on a rota basis with limited cover to keep it fair for everyone.
Along with a competitive salary up to £45,000 pro rata, we offer all the standard benefits you’d expect from a major employer (pension, healthcare, paid memberships, competitive salary etc.) plus a few more, such as excellent career progression, exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 30% off at Pets at Home), and relocation packages from within or outside the UK, including visa sponsorship if needed (we’re an A+ rated sponsor).
You should have small animal experience gained as a general practitioner, and great people skills. You will be comfortable with sole charge but will also relish being part of a team.
Pets just see people. And just like pets, we embrace everyone’s differences. We work to break down barriers, attract and develop diverse talent, and create a culture that allows everyone to be the best they can be.
Our diversity and inclusion vision is that everyone is welcome and feels part of our group. So, if you think you’re a good match to what we are looking for, and you share our belief that together ‘we’re better with pets’, we’re waiting to hear from you, whatever your background or circumstances.
For more information, a confidential chat or to apply, please contact Jack Nesteruk at covet@vets4pets.com or visit www.vets4petscareers.com.
Location: LA9 6DU
Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
