Job description

Post: Vetting Researcher
Salary: Scale 4 - £24,921 - £27,351
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed term contract until March 2025
Location: Hartlepool

We are seeking a Vetting Researcher to join our small but busy team based in Hartlepool. You will be right for this role if you are experienced in working within a fast paced environment, meeting deadlines and prioritising work. You will be responsible for assessing vetting applications so candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, a methodical approach, and awareness of risk.

This role gives the post holder opportunity to carry out an integral role, ensuring that police systems are interrogated in line with nationally agreed vetting processes.

This is a rewarding role where your skills in terms of customer service, research and IT will be used on a daily basis. There will be times when there are conflicting deadlines and we are looking for candidates who can work on their own initiative to provide an excellent service, managing their own time to deliver on target dates for vetting.

This role will involve handing sensitive information so it is essential that the post holder can demonstrate a high level of confidentiality. There may also be times when you will be exposed to information of an emotionally distressing nature.

If you are interested in applying for this role please progress your application via the link. Application forms should be completed no later than 23:55 on the specified closing date.

Cleveland Police is committed to improving the diversity of its workforce to better reflect the communities we serve. We welcome applications from all minority groups and individuals who identify with one or more of the protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010. All appointments will be made on merit.

Previous applicants from within a 6 month period are advised not to reapply.

Regardless of the applicant, this role is on current Cleveland Police Terms and Conditions as per Police Staff Council.
