About this role

Corporate Communications, Vice President

Location: London

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic professional to join BlackRock’s Corporate Communications team. The team is responsible for managing and enhancing the firm’s reputation while also playing a central role in promoting BlackRock’s purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being. We work to develop compelling communications programs that enhance the firm’s culture, drive growth, strengthen our reputation and build our brand.

Why is your role important?

Based in London, you will support our communications efforts across EMEA – one of BlackRock’s key growth markets globally. The role is critical to help shape and enhance the firm's message and brand. This will include strategic planning and executing communications initiatives, including proactive commercially oriented campaigns, as well as broader corporate and reputation management.

What will you be doing?

  • Partner closely with other members of the Communications team to develop engaging narratives about BlackRock, including the contributions the firm makes to society and the communities where it operates.
  • Support the design and roll out of stakeholder-centric communications strategies to deliver BlackRock through a multi-channel approach, including earned media, social media and owned digital properties, as well as internal communications.
  • Coordinate media interviews and public speaking engagements with trained spokespeople across the firm, ensuring the topic is defined and the spokesperson is briefed in advance with the relevant key messages.
  • Manage highly complex communications challenges and initiatives that intersect public policy, communications and marketing.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with business/financial and trade media across channels (print, online, broadcast and social).
  • Design and lead the implementation of media events, roundtables, press conferences and educational seminars.
  • Lead the coordination of the distribution of a full range of written materials including press releases, by-lined articles and reports relating to the business.
  • Develop close working relationships with communications team members in Continental Europe, London, North America and APAC to create operational synergies.

What are we looking for?

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in a Corporate Communications or public affairs function, either in house or agency.
  • Deep understanding of capital markets, and issues and facing institutional and individual investors. Deep understanding of sustainable investing landscape.
  • An upbeat teammate and driven self-starter, with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
  • Ability to build relationships with our executives, journalists, and colleagues around the world.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and operate with flexibility in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines with resilience and intellectual flexibility.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Track record of working effectively with senior executives.
