About the role

Cambridgeshire Virtual School is seeking a forward thinking, motivated and passionate Education Advisor to work predominantly within our Achievement into Adulthood team.

We are looking for an individual who can confidently establish and develop excellent relationships with all key stakeholders. They will be a highly effective educator with experience of leadership. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of whole school and child level barriers which may be faced by children known to Social Care and the impact of these on educational outcomes.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with Secondary or Post-16 experience.

What will you be doing?

Education Advisor (Achievement Into Adulthood)
The Education Advisor supporting our Achievement into Adulthood work will have a strong understanding of the role of school improvement in maximising educational outcomes for children and young people.

They will:

  • Support and challenge settings, schools, and providers to understand and meet the statutory requirements for the education of children and young people known to social care.
  • Promote culture, policy and practice within settings, schools and providers which takes into account the specific vulnerabilities of children and young people known to social care.
  • Effectively track, analyse and use data to maximise attainment and progress for all children in care as if they were on a single school roll.
  • Support the quality assurance of the PEP document, including the allocation and impact of the PP+ grant.

 

About you

You will have up to date knowledge of the education system, recent experience of working in a school or Virtual School, and a strong understanding of the barriers faced by children known to social care. You will be able to offer support and challenge to ensure that educational outcomes are maximised.

You will be responsible for building relationships and providing support and challenge for key partners including senior leaders in schools to promote aspirational outcomes for children known to social care.

You will be self-motivated, confident at communicating effectively, efficient, organised and be able to work using your own initiative within a wider team.

You must be able to drive and may be expected to travel outside of Cambridgeshire.
