12 Month FTC

Your team:

You will be part of a highly skilled studio team working across our programmes on a daily basis.

Your role:

As a Vision Mixer, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality live television content. Your creative eye, technical expertise and ability to work under pressure will contribute to delivering engaging and visually captivating broadcasts to our audiences.

Day to day you will:

  • Operate and control the vision mixing desk during live broadcasts, seamlessly transitioning between camera shots, video sources, graphics, and other visual elements.

  • Collaborate closely with directors, producers, camera operators, and other crew members to ensure a smooth and visually appealing production.

  • Execute complex multi-camera shots, including live events, interviews, panel discussions, and other on-air content.

  • Monitor all incoming video feeds, ensuring proper framing, focus, and quality for each shot.

  • Incorporate graphics, lower thirds, visual effects, and other overlays into the broadcast as directed.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the show's format, pacing, and visual style, and make creative decisions in real-time to enhance the viewer experience.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to the vision mixing equipment and work with technical support to resolve any problems promptly.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to live television production and vision mixing.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Proven experience as a Vision Mixer in a live television environment.

  • Proficiency in handling complex multi-camera setups and live switching techniques.

  • Strong understanding of video formats, resolutions, and signal flows.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with various production crew members.

  • Ability to work efficiently under high-pressure, fast-paced live broadcast environments.

  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for visual composition and storytelling through camera shots.

  • Familiarity with graphics integration and overlays, including lower thirds, logos, and other on-screen elements.

  • Problem-solving skills to quickly diagnose and address technical issues during live broadcasts.
