Visitor Centre Worker - Part Time

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.

This permission is without exception granted by UK Visas and Immigrations. Here at the Visitors Centre in HMP, Perth we provide a safe space to families of prisoner's. Our service is trauma informed and we support people from their first visit and throughout their journey, no matter how long that is.

The service offers a wide variety of emotional and practical support. From a good cup of coffee through to agency referrals, such as food banks, support with form-filling, arts and crafts for children and working alongside more than 30 agencies, we are here to help with many different approaches. We also work in the waiting area of the prison and the visit room

While a qualification in Social Work or Social Care would be desirable, it's not essential as we'll support you to gain it. In fact, we'll make sure that you have all the training and development you need, not only so you can do a great job, but to help you build your career with us too.

The shifts are as follows;

1200 - 1900 hours week days1300 - 1600 weekendsThis post includes working in the Centre, waiting area & the visit room in the prison.
