National Museums NI is an ambitious organisation delivering award-winning museum services. Our mission is to:
- Develop, manage and care for our collections to benefit current and future generations
- Make our collections accessible to the widest possible audiences
- Play a leading role in the economic and social wellbeing and future of this place
- Build an organisation where people feel valued
National Museums NI was established by the Museums & Galleries (NI) Order 1998, and comprises the Ulster Museum, Ulster Folk Museum, Ulster Transport Museum and Ulster American Folk Park. The organisation receives its core funding from the Department for Communities (DfC), but generates income and sponsorship from a variety of other sources to meet its revenue and capital expenditure needs.
Our Visitor Guides play a key role in the delivery of a positive, engaging and customer focused experience across our exhibit buildings and galleries. Visitor Guides are vital to the visitor experience as a world leader in living history.
A key responsibility of the successful candidate is to support the delivery of memorable experiences whilst ensuring the safety of our visitors and collections and embedding our mission of ‘Here for Good.’ They will promote the understanding of historically accurate stories and themes and will trade food and beverage from the licensed premises.
