Description
The Visual Merchandiser creates visually attractive and commercially effective store displays to enhance the customers' shopping experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Applying company merchandising guidelines to drive sales and grow revenue.
- Maintaining store condition and visual merchandising standards.
- Encouraging attention to detail and high standards from the team.
- Collaborating with the Store Manager to grow sales and present products effectively.
- Using inventory reports to make informed, commercial merchandising decisions.
- Planning for deliveries, delegating tasks, and coordinating efficient work.
- Assisting the Management Team to organise work effectively.
- Handling pressure and adapting to seasonal fluctuations in workload.
- Being open to constructive criticism and changes in displays.
- Creating efficient work plans for Drop Focuses, Campaigns, and shop floor moves.
- Providing hands-on support to staff responsible for product displays.
- Managing stock effectively and placing weekly stock orders.
- Educating other staff on visual merchandising to improve their skills.
- Fostering a positive and proactive work environment.
- Maintaining a safe store and complying with health and safety standards.
- Performing keyholder duties and processing customer payments.
- Completing end-of-day VM duties such as removing VM tools, ensuring displays are complete and tidy, and instructing handover tasks.
Profile
As a Visual Merchandiser, you should have the following skills and qualities:
- Ideally, a background in Visual Merchandising for Home.
- A strong understanding of visual design principles.
- Experience in a retail environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to work well within a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach and the ability to take initiative.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Being flexible and willing to travel to other stores in Northern Ireland if required.
Additionally, a successful Visual Merchandiser has the art of storytelling through product displays and is skilled at commercialising the displays. They also contribute to the daily work in the store by restocking displays and serving customers.

- An estimated salary range of £24,000 - £28,500 per annum.
