Job description

Status: 0.4 FTE, fixed term for 12 months

Closing date: 02 June 2024

The Role:

We are looking for an organised and motivated individual with a passion for volunteering who can lead on the implementation of a new Volunteer Management System (VMS) for the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s ~1000 volunteers and the staff who support them. Working as part of the Trust’s Engagement team, you will play a key role in ensuring the implementation process runs smoothly and that all staff and volunteers feel confident and supported when moving to the new system.

You will work closely with an appointed VMS provider – who will provide technical expertise – to ensure the platform is customised to meet the needs of the Scottish Wildlife Trust and its volunteers.

This highly flexible role can be conducted remotely, although some travel to Scottish Wildlife Trust headquarters in Leith may be required.

Main objectives:

1. To work with the VMS provider to create a platform that meets the Trust’s Volunteer Database needs and enhances the volunteer experience.

2. To liaise with volunteer line managers and the Trust’s Supporter Database Manager to populate the new database with relevant data from the Trust’s existing CRM (Raiser’s Edge).

3. To provide training, guidance and support to volunteer managers during the onboarding phase.

4. To support the onboarding of volunteers to the new platform.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Have a good understanding of volunteer management and the volunteer experience
  • Have experience managing volunteer and/or supporter data
  • Have experience working with a volunteer management system or similar software
  • Experience leading on a small project or initiative
  • Good understanding of GDPR in relation to volunteer data

Closing date: 02 June 2024

  • Interviews will be held on Teams w/s 24th June

The Trust is a passionate employer, proactive about creating a culture of diversity and inclusive workplace that promotes and values equal opportunities for all. We welcome individuals from all networks of life, backgrounds, and experiences.
