Nugent are looking for a drivers for our care homes around Liverpool. Our care home provides care and support for 18 adults (aged 18 years to 65 years) with an acquired brain injury, a neurological disorder and or a physical disability and long-term nursing care for older people living with dementia.
We have a minibus which is shared between care homes transporting staff and residents to various locations around Merseyside. The drivers role will not involve any personal care or volunteering alone with residents, there will always be a member of staff to support and assist residents.
To drive a Nugent Care minibus in a safe and responsible manner and to provide a high standard of customer care to all passengers/residents and act in a responsible and courteous manner at all times.
Transport passengers/residents to and from agreed locations. You will be required to work with elderly and vulnerable adults.
To provide assistance to passengers, if required, to and from the vehicle.
To carry out vehicle pre checks and report any defects immediately to the Manager.
To complete all necessary paperwork, e.g. log sheets, fuel issue sheets, defect reports, ensuring that accurate records of all journeys undertaken are recorded.
To immediately record and report details of any accident/untoward incident to the vehicle, passengers or third party (regardless of severity) and obtain contact details of any witnesses.
Essential
To participate in all mandatory training, MIDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme), Disability Awareness, Safeguarding
A full, clean standard UK Driving Licence.
Hold a Driving Licence with a D1 entitlement.
Hold a standard UK Driving Licence for a minimum of 2 years.
Over 25 years old
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Desirable
Previous experience of minibus driving.
MiDAS Certificate and/or PCV Licence.
Basic First Aid qualification.
Awareness of the needs of people with disabilities.
Geographical knowledge of Merseyside.
