Overview
Leicestershire And Rutland Hub is the home of all Royal Voluntary Service support work throughout the Leicestershire and Rutland area. Offering a multitude of services to support older people, the hub manages all services from one-to-one support services that help build confidence to patient transport to ensure hospital appointments can be kept.
We’re currently looking for a Volunteer Service Co-ordinator to join us on a full-time basis for a fixed term contract until 28th June 2024.
The Role
As a Volunteer Service Co-ordinator, you will co-ordinate volunteers for our Leicestershire services.
Leading our Leicestershire recruitment campaigns and local promotion activities, you will work alongside Service Managers and local teams to organise recruitment fairs, attract new volunteers and understand the variety of volunteer roles we offer.
You will also check our online volunteer management system on a daily basis and welcome and guide new applicants through our recruitment process. You will build rapport, offer trust and support, provide advice and explain what we offer and the great outcomes that can be achieved.
Additionally, you will:
- Use knowledge and contacts to develop, implement and advertise volunteer opportunities- Co-ordinate all Leicestershire services volunteer recruitment, training and induction- Act as the main point of contact for volunteers- Support the Leicestershire Volunteers Long Service Awards Programme- Maintain accurate paperwork and digital records
Working Hours
This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm for a fixed term contract until 28th June 2024.
What you’ll need
- Experience working with volunteers and/or volunteer-led support groups- Experience of local services and the issues affecting older people- Experience of recording data, monitoring and evaluation processes and maintaining databases- Knowledge of proven methods to engage and retain volunteers- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Proficiency in IT- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle
