About the Role
Across Central YMCA, we have a great team of specialist volunteers who dedicate their spare time to undertaking a variety of essential activities, from administration tasks to teaching classes at the YMCA Club - the first world's YMCA and the largest gym in Central London!
Looking to give something back, or develop some skills and gain work experience to support your next steps? We’re always on the lookout for qualified and highly enthusiastic volunteers to join the team. The roles available are:
- Class Teacher volunteers (must hold a relevant qualification in Indoor Cycling, Exercise to Music, Zumba etc.) This role requires a Basic DBS check. Location: London, at YMCA Club or YMCA KX.
- Level 2 or 3 Gym Instructor volunteers – able to cover the gym floor doing a gym orientation/induction session for new members and interacting with existing members. This role requires a Basic DBS Check. Location: London, at YMCA Club
- Older Adult Instructor volunteers (Must hold a relevant qualification in teaching and working with older adults such as Level 3 PT and Older adults qualification). This role requires a Basic DBS check. Location: London, at YMCA Club or YMCA KX
- Exercise on Referral instructors – must hold a Level 3 Personal trainer award qualification and an Exercise Referral qualification. This role requires a Basic DBS check. Location: London, at YMCA Club
- Children and Young People volunteers – Playworkers and Level 2 Gym Instructors/ Sports Coach. This role is classified as regulated activity and requires an Enhanced DBS Check. Location: London, at YMCA Club or YMCA KX
Regulated Activity: Central YMCA is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to successfully completing pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure, the receipt of satisfactory references, relevant original ID documentation and examination certificates.
