The opportunity

At 9fin, we have a vision to be the #1 global provider of data, news and analytics in debt capital markets, and we think that’s a $15bn+ business opportunity. Our core offering to customers is our product, and we are looking for an exceptional Product Leader to drive the direction of 9fin. 

Our product is an AI-powered data and analytics platform, and 9fin centralises everything that is needed to analyse a credit or win a mandate in one place - helping subscribers win business, outperform their peers and save time. With a 98% client retention rate, we believe we have a great product and market fit, however, we also believe that we have only scratched the surface of what is possible in this area. 

We have grown to a team of 180+ across London and New York, and we are embarking on our next period of exciting growth and impact on a global scale. As the VP of Product, you will report directly to Huss, CTO & Co-Founder, and you will lead and be accountable for all aspects of Product for 9fin during a period of significant growth. You will work closely with our exec team and board, playing a vital role in 9fin’s commercial success. 

This is a position that will be critical to 9fin’s success and realisation of our vision; you will have a large influence across the whole organisation, including partnering closely with our engineering teams to build and develop a world class product. You will drive the overall cross-functional alignment of the entire product development process in partnership with the co-founders. 

We are looking for an experienced product leader with expertise in building and scaling B2B SaaS products to take us to the next level.

What you'll work on

• Lead all aspects of our product function end-to-end, including product management, product design and product development. You will partner closely with the SLT and Board to place 9fin at the pinnacle of its market.
• You will build a first-class product org, developing and championing a rigorous, analytical and data-driven approach to all product development activities. 
• You will hire, lead and develop product, design and research teams, spotting expertise gaps and attracting world-class talent to fill vacancies. 
• You will create the organisational structure and capabilities to drive rapid and efficient product development.
• You will continue to build our overall product vision with the leadership team and customer base, working closely with the engineering team to execute the roadmap.
• You will own the product roadmap end-to-end, ensuring it is constantly evolved, refined, prioritised and communicated throughout the wider organisation.  
• You will champion and drive the overall quality of execution in product development, constantly driving a pragmatic approach with a focus on meeting market and user needs. 
• You will create close partnerships with other teams at 9fin, mainly engineering, sales, marketing and content production teams. You will remove roadblocks through making high-impact decisions. 
• In your partnership with engineering, you will improve coordination, alignment, speed, tracking and quality, ensuring quality communication throughout. 
• You will empower your team to champion user experience and the customer, conduct market research and competitor analysis, as well as keeping up to date with market trends. 
• You will drive the use of data, testing and experimentation in all product-related activities to improve understanding, reveal product opportunities and prioritise our roadmap. 
• You will lead through complex (and exciting!) discussions, dissect key problems and drive decisions around competing priorities and timelines. To be successful in this role, you will have proven communication skills, a transparent approach and an innovation-driven mindset.

Requirements

• Disciplined, entrepreneurial and commercially minded product leader, with deep experience in scaling a high-value B2B, SaaS product/data business. 
• Significant experience as a Product Leader, designing, building and launching B2B software products at scale. 
• Experience owning a product function end-to-end at a scaling tech company, ideally in the B2B space.
• An interest in learning the nuances of fin-tech, as well as financial/debt markets. 
• Proven leadership ability, bringing strategic knowledge to 9fin alongside the ability to balance the support of a growing team with operating in a hands-on manner. 
• Low ego and collaborative ethos when working with the wider business, especially with engineering, sales, operations, marketing and data. 
• Highly influential leadership style with the ability to communicate effectively across the entire organisation, ensuring consistency in the product development lifecycle. 
• Deep expertise in product org design, establishing ways of working with our existing teams, as well as being able to attract and hire expert talent.
• Highly evident creative ability to find novel solutions, solve new problems in nascent markets whilst reducing complexity and transforming user experience. 
• High levels of curiosity to continually interrogate strategic decisions and product recommendations. Put simply, you love what you do.
• Comfortable working in an environment of complexity, ambiguity, change and pace.
