Waking Night Officer – £11.95 per hour (rising to £13.15 in April 2024) – Lewisham

The Role

Do you understand the silent hours of the night and the unique challenges they bring for those living with mental health needs? Can you be the vigilant and caring presence that ensures our clients' safety and well-being during these crucial hours?

As a Waking Night Officer at Quo Vadis Trust, you will provide essential overnight support to our clients, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure environment for individuals living with mental health needs.

This is a permanent, full-time position (30 or 40 hours per week).

Hours: 3-4 Night Shifts per week (11 hours per shift with a one-hour unpaid break).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding the well-being of clients throughout the night.
  • Providing direct support to Verdant Lane clients.
  • Supervising clients during medication intake.
  • Performing hourly checks on all properties within Verdant Lane.
  • Addressing all emergencies promptly and contacting the On-Call Manager when necessary.
  • Handling out-of-hours enquiries and maintaining client records diligently.
  • Ensuring cleanliness in communal areas and preparing meeting rooms for the following day.
  • Reporting and following up on any maintenance issues.
  • Attending training and supervisions within office hours and adhering to company policies and procedures.

The Person

  • GCSE or equivalent in English & Maths.
  • Experience or awareness in the Social Housing and Mental Health Sector.
  • Computer literate with excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative & demonstrate commitment to team working.
  • Flexible, adaptable and willing to work unsociable hours.
  • Awareness of current housing issues and those faced by people with mental health needs.
