The post holder is responsible for the safe and effective management of theOncology/Haematology Unit (ward3B) Lead and manage personnel providing opportunities for staff development, which meetsthe identified core needs of the ward through empowerment and progression planning. Implement a robust system of performance management to ensure all staff undergotraining and development to meet core skills.Ensure patient flow is effective and timely through the Ward and to other Department Lead clinical practice ensuring the delivery of a high standard of patient and familycentred care. The post holder is required to act up in the absence of Matron/Cancer Lead Nurse. Manage staff performance to ensure high clinical standards are maintained utilisingreview systems such as appraisal and professional development. Will ensure own professional and / or clinical training needs are identified, and anycore deficits addressed, within a 12-month time frame, meeting agreed learningaction plan deadlines with the support of the Matron.
