Their facility includes four theatres, 25 beds including 15 private rooms, the latest diagnostic imaging technology, a JAG accredited (gold standard) endoscopy suite, a Macmillan accredited Oncology Suite and dedicated clinics for orthopaedics, eyes procedures and breast care.

This is a full time role, with shifts Monday – Sunday on rotation

Duties and responsibilities:

As a Charge nurse on shift, you will lead your team by example acting as role model and supporting your team to develop their skills whilst providing exemplary care to our patients.

Deputising for the ward manager

Co-ordination of shifts

Ability to lead and coordinate on daily basis.

Troubleshoot and raise concerns to the Ward Manager or Matron

Support the nursing team, HCA’s, and Ward Manager

Delegate work to others.

Competent to make safe discharge decisions working with our consultant team

Who we're looking for:

You will be able to demonstrate your strong surgical background as well as any previous leadership experience.

NMC Registered Nurse

Extensive surgical nursing experience

Previous band 6 experience would be advantageous

Valid NMC registration with no restrictions or conditions

Excellent communication skills

Previous leadership experience would be an advantage

Autonomous decision maker
