Department: Clinical & Nursing

Location: Ashford and Canterbury (South East)

Salary: £33,706 - £40,588 per annum dependent upon experience

Closing Date: 24th January 2024

Full Time: 37.5 hours per week across a 7 day working rota

Interview Date – 8th February2024

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Nurse.
  • Evidence of continual professional development.
  • Teaching and Assessing Course or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a qualified adult nurse as well as in acute nursing.
  • Evidence of change management.
  • Ability to audit/benchmark.
  • Proven experience on managing a ward; including management of rotas, managing competencies, resources and staff.
  • Knowledge of compliance with CQC regulations.
  • Experience of teaching / assessing / supervising others in a clinical setting.
  • Competent and confident in nursing care including venepuncture, cannulation, management of syringe drivers, administrations of medications through various routes, recording of an ECG etc.
  • Able to plan staff and non-staffing resources effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent employee relations track record.
  • Demonstrate professional development.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Track record of ability to implement change.
  • IT/ Computer Skills Proficient.
  • Ability to make informed decisions.
  • Able to effectively present information to groups and professional teams.
  • Able to manage staffing and supply budgets effectively.
  • Flexible, adaptable and tactful.
  • Caring, compassionate and friendly personality.
  • Able to cope under pressure.
  • Ability to act as a role model for best practice.

Spencer Private Hospitals (SPH) are looking for an experienced and well-educated Registered Nurse to become part of our Ashford and Canterbury team.

They will work with the ward team to ensure an excellent level of care is provided to all of our patients.

The Ward Sister/Charge Nurse will need to be expert in a multiplicity of surgical procedures which include – but are not limited to – general surgical, orthopaedic, gynaecology, urology, ENT, colorectal and ophthalmology services.

The working hours are predominantly Monday – Sunday 07:00 – 21:00, with occasional requirements to undertake night shifts to provide cover and support. The benefit of this is that they attract extra duty payments to enhance the generous salary being offered.
