Role Overview
The Warehouse and Shipping Manager is responsible for the overall management of Material Stock Control and the Planning and Implementation of our shipping distribution strategy. This role plays a pivotal role in managing the seamless flow of goods from the warehouse to the factory floor and onward to end customers via carriers.
This position requires exceptional organisational skills, strategic thinking, and leadership abilities to optimise warehouse operations, coordinate shipping logistics, and ensure timely delivery to both internal and external stakeholders. The role must ensure that products, inventory, parts, or the team, move from one place to another efficiently and cost-effectively. This role is a key part to service the manufacturing requirements of the business by driving greater performance using KPI’s, organisation, monitoring and teamwork.
What will you be doing?
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and management of raw materials, components, and finished goods within the warehouse
- Implement inventory control measures to maintain accurate stock levels, minimise stockouts, and prevent overstock situations.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Production teams to ensure sufficient inventory levels to support manufacturing schedules and customer demand.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts and storage solutions to facilitate the smooth flow of materials to the factory floor and outbound shipments.
- Ensure full compliance of the shipping regulations governing the movement of goods globally, ensuring that all legal requirements are investigated. Industry regulations in relation to HRMC requirements, commodity codes, Import/Export duty and VAT obligations.
- Prepare shipping documentation, such as bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork, ensuring compliance with regulations and customer requirements.
- Coordinate outbound shipments to end customers, including order processing, packaging, and carrier selection.
- Liaise with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups, track shipments, and resolve any delivery issues or delays.

- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
- Experience of working in stock/inventory role and can demonstrate knowledge of warehouse stock and Shipping Management
- Dangerous good knowledge by Sea, Air and Land
- Dynamic and strong leader with a hands-on management approach, motivating and enabling staff
- Strong team player and aware of individual impact and contribution to the business, with good problem-solving skills and ability to work under own initiative with limited supervision
