YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Ross-on-Wye
Wage: £30,000 to £35,000 + Pension
Monday to Friday, 8.30 to 5pm.


Warehouse Manager required for a specialised manufacturer of construction products. This large and stable employer has a new facility and is looking to appoint a Warehouse Manager into this new role.
The Successful Warehouse Manager will have previous leadership experience within a Warehousing, Stores or similar environment. You will be IT literate, including the use of Excel. You will need competent numerical and analytical skills.


The Warehouse Manager Role:
  • Liaise with transport ensuring that load times and loading sequences are adhered to.
  • Maintain the Warehouses in an orderly and professional manner.
  • Control stock ordering / Goods Inwards of Traded Goods and Coordinate Issues of same Stock
  • Regular and Ongoing SAP cycle counting of Stock.
  • Increase effectiveness of team and tools by recognising opportunities for development and proactively creating new systems and structures.
  • Manage and develop all assigned area’s as it applies to the manufacturing of products and associated activities with particular emphasis on ensuring a smooth, efficient, cost effective and customer responsive workflow.
  • Develop and constantly drive initiatives designed to improve the productivity of people and resources within your assigned area.
  • Oversee the daily operational workload by area using a customer focused logic and good communication process.
  • Ensure all new employees in your team receive training in the relevant aspects of their positions – these must include all quality, environmental and H&S aspects.
  • Set up relevant processes and equipment to achieve agreed output level and document compliance to agreed quality levels.
  • Ensure the reporting of all activities is carried out accurately and in a timely fashion in keeping with the requirements.
  • Initiate and take part in all relevant group problem-solving activities as may be designated and develop, encourage and maintain team based operational environment.
  • Proactively, through the use of team meetings and other communication skills, develop sustainable goals and targets for your team.
  • Co-ordinate recruitment and capacity planning activities for the area.
  • Responsible for the management of all personnel issues within the area, for example, annual leave, absenteeism, disciplinary and grievance issues etc.
  • Carry out assigned projects from time to time in an efficient, cost and timely manner.
  • Promote good employee relations throughout the department through the use of modern management principles.
  • Ensure the site maintains compliance with all external certifications, be they product or systems based, and legal obligations.


The Successful Warehouse Manager:

  • Methodical with excellent organisational skills and knowledge of working in or ability to gain knowledge of an SAP controlled environment.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
  • High housekeeping standards.
  • Ability to manage change in a dynamic environment.
  • Possess a continuous improvement mentality.
  • Experience in managing a warehouse operating 24 hr / 7 days per week.
  • Experience working with high volume product in a fast-moving environment.
